Edmore Chijumani was born in 1970 and in 1993 began to learn stone sculpting under the supervision of his brother Morgan Chijumani who in turn was taught by his father who was also a stone sculptor based in Chimanimani.
His trademark sculptures are often of fish in fruit serpentine, a colourful hard serpentine stone and cobalt stone (another hard type of serpentine stone).
He was involved in a group exhibition of Zimbabwe sculptures entitled “ Dialogue in Stone” held at Centre Island,Toronto, Canada in 2006 organized by Talking Stones Gallery. He also exhibited in in Delaware, Pennsylvania, USA in September 2006, which featured Dominic Benhura and Richard Mteki amongst others.
